In your own words: I've been a fan of Sting since I was 15. When I started singing and writing lyrics at 15, with what I found was a lot of focus being towards London for those successful. I knew I needed someone to look up to that was successful that came from the North East. His success has inspired me. I find his writing and talent overall is incredible. I love his writing style. He inspires me to keep moving forward with my dream of being a successful singer / songwriter. I've had some stumbling blocks in the way but I refuse to give up as I have been working towards this for too long to give in now. I joined the fan club at 15 but couldn't afford to renew. I rejoined the fan club in August. I finally met Sting 25th April. It was an honour to meet him after being a fan of his for over 16 years. With the release of the Last Ship also. When Sting refers to the huge ship at the bottom of his street it has made me wonder if my Mam had a similar view. She was brought up in Wallsend she was born just a few years before Sting. So glad Sting has done the Last Ship album. It's like the sound of home to me. I've loved seeing international fans also exploring the North East that I love and am proud to be from.
