The Rainforest Foundation and Victoria Park Harriers & Tower Hamlets AC are joining forces for the fifth successive year for the annual Rainforest Foundation Taut 10K fun day. This year the sports drink company, Taut, will be joining the Foundation as a new and very welcome partner.
The 10K was first run in 2000 with just 150 runners. It has doubled in size every year and in 2005 the RF expect 3500 people to register. All funds raised - through entry and sponsorship - go to the Rainforest Foundation's vital work. To date RF runners have raised £75,000. The 2005 Rainforest Foundation Taut 10K will take place in Victoria Park, East London on Sunday 2nd October.
Runners come from all corners of the community, from serious runners to those who just want to have fun while being active. The course is a fast, flat, traffic free and BAF/RRC certified route around Victoria Park. Prizes for top six (1st = £225), plus V40/50/60/70 - men and women. Total prize value, £1000.
With the assistance of the RF new partners Taut, this year's race will be bigger and better than ever. As well as the highlight of the 10K and the addition of an 'elite' section, the RF want to make the day a community event with activities, entertainment and a variety of food and drink stalls, so bring the family along and make it a day in the park. Join the drama! Join the spirit of the day!
This event is simple to enter and fun to run.
