Man in Motion: Sting sits at the dining-room table of his modest apartment on a rainy day in New York City's Upper West Side, overlooking a not-as-breathtaking-as-one-might-wish area of Central Park. "It feels a little bit detached from the city," he says, gazing through the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows. "It's kind of Blade Runner." The English pop icon and his wife, Trudie Styler, have kept a place here since 1984, but this is only a temporary accommodation while he moves from one permanent apartment to another. "This is a stop," he says...
We are pleased to announce that Sting will perform at the 2011 North Sea Jazz Festival in Curacao. The Festival will take place on Friday, September 2nd and Saturday, September 3rd, 2011. Additional artists who are confirmed to appear include Dionne Warwick, Chic, Earth Wind & Fire, Ruben Blades, Chucho Valdes, Poncho Sanchez with trumpeter Terence Blanchard, Danilo Perez, Los Van, Eliane Elias, Levi Silvani, and Ronchi Mathews.
After it's highly successful staging in NYC in June 2010, Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) will present the West Coast debut of Twin Spirits featuring Sting and Trudie Styler, an intimate theatrical event devised and directed for the stage by Tony Award-winner John Caird on Tuesday, February 15, 8:00PM, at Mark Taper Forum at Music Center of Los Angeles County on 135 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA.
