Live Nation is pleased to announce that a concert in Luxembourg has been added to Sting's Back to Bass Tour!

Currently garnering stellar reviews throughout North America, the Back to Bass tour celebrates the 25th anniversary of Sting's solo career by taking it back bass…all the hits, stripped down, as they haven't been played in years.

The tour will begin in Gateshead, UK at The Sage Gateshead on February 5, 2012 and continue across Europe and the UK (itinerary below). Additional dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

In support of Sting: 25 Years, the recently released box set collection, Back to Bass finds Sting performing songs spanning his dynamic solo career, plus a selection of The Police's greatest hits. Sting will be joined by a band including his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, Rufus Miller (guitarist), Vinnie Colaiuta (drummer), Peter Tickell (electric fiddle), and Jo Lawry (vocalist).

Fan Club presales will begin at 10am (local time) on Wednesday, November 23. Legacy Fan Club members will be given a one hour advance window at the start of the presales followed by a presale to all members beginning at 11am (local time). Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10am (local time) on Saturday, November 26.

"I'm not led by market forces or what is hip," said Sting to music journalist Anthony DeCurtis during a presentation at a special launch event at the Apple Store Monday on New York's Upper West Side. And yet, the sixty-year-old rockstar was discussing the debut of something that could only be described as hip: Sting 25, an iPad-only app that celebrates his 25-year career as a solo artist. Created by New York-based media company @radical.media, Sting 25 is a dynamic, multi-dimensional product that easily can be described as the Book of his Life. What it does is tells a story, said James Spindler, chief creative officer at @radical.media and one of the visionaries behind the project...

As he tours to commemorate the 25 years (actually 26) of his post-Police solo career, Sting is also looking to his next phase, which includes a theater piece as well as a just-launched app geared towards the anniversary. Sting calls the forthcoming "The Last Ship" "a play with songs. I'm loathe to call it a musical because I don't like that term." He has 25 songs written so far for the project, which he describes as "a play set in my home town, in Newcastle (England). I was born in the shadow of a shipyard. I often wondered why I was exposed to this rather surreal environment when I was growing up, and I realize now it has a massive psychological and symbolic importance to me. That's the landscape of my dreams, my little home town and the house I was brought up in and the ghosts that were there." The plot meanwhile, is "a story of redemption and occupying a shipyard against the wishes of the owners - which is kind of topical at the moment, occupying things."
