Great work!
It would be nice to know, how much rainforest they are able to save with the money from the concert.
What a night for the 20 plus year Rainforest Foundation: Trudie Styler produced her biennial all-star fundraiser at Carnegie Hall, probably the best ever with Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, Roseanne Cash, Esperanza Spaulding, Vince Gill, Bruno Mars, opera great Bryn Terfel, Rita Wilson, Meryl Streep, and Channing Tatum with his gorgeous dancer wife Jenna, and special guest Bill Clinton. They raised millions more for the preservation of the Rainforest and its indigenous people. So many highlights but probably no one will ever forget Elton John singing 'Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend' while Channing Tatum, wearing a vest and no shirt underneath, plus a black bowler, danced around him as if he were in the show, 'Chicago'. It was hilarious. Jennifer Hudson, of course, blew the doors off the building singing 'And I’m Telling You' from 'Dreamgirls'...
Jennifer Hudson and Bruno Mars have been added to the incredible lineup for the upcoming Revlon Concert for the Rainforest Fund! They join an all-star list of performers including Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Meryl Streep, Vince Gill, Rosanne Cash, and Bryn Terfel at the concert on April 3, 2012, which will be held at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, followed by a gala dinner.
The Lunchbox Fund (www.thelunchboxfund.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a daily meal for impoverished and at-risk students in South African township high schools, recently held its inaugural bookfair fundraiser, auctioning off unique, one-of-a-kind books, prints and book objects, hand created by a collection of artists, celebrities and newsmakers at Del Posto Ristorante in New York City. The auction continues online at lunchboxfundbookfair.com through March 31st, and includes a contribution from Sting!
