Nobel Peace Prize Concert organizers announced today that composer, singer-songwriter, actor, author, and activist Sting will perform at the 23rd annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert on Sunday, December 11th in Oslo, Norway at the Telenor Arena. Performing a song off his new pop/rock album, 57th & 9th as well as some classic hits, Sting will join a musical lineup that already includes Halsey and Highasakite, with Conan O’Brien serving as the evening’s host.

"It is truly an honor to be performing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert this year,” said Sting. “I have always believed in music as an important way of amplifying messages of peace and we certainly hope to achieve that with this concert.”

As one of the world’s most distinctive artists, Sting has earned 16 Grammy Awards, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, three Oscar nominations, a TONY nomination, Billboard Magazine’s Century Award, and MusiCares 2004 Person of the Year. Sting’s twelfth solo studio album, 57th & 9th, his first pop/rock project in over a decade, was released on November 11 and features the raucous, guitar-driven first single, “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You.”

"Sting is a long-time supporter of the Nobel Peace Prize and the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. He has exactly the right integrity and commitment to the cause. Moreover, he remains one of the most impressive songwriters and musicians of his time. I am simply thrilled that Sting will be performing at this year's concert", said Olav Njølstad, Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
