Pioneer Theatre set to launch Sting’s Tony-nominated 'The Last Ship'...

Fans of the musician Sting and theatergoers alike are anticipating Pioneer Theatre Company’s regional premiere of “The Last Ship,” the rock star’s semi-autobiographical musical that centers on a shipbuilding town and a prodigal son’s return. The Last Ship to open Utah's Pioneer Theatre Company's 2016-2017 season...

Broadway World have confirmed that Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah's premier professional theatre, will open its 2016-17 season with the THE LAST SHIP, the new musical with music and lyrics by the pop superstar Sting and book by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning writers John Logan and Brian Yorkey. PTC's production will be the first since the show's Broadway run in 2014-15.

'The Last Ship' Musical to Dock in Scandinavia...

"The Last Ship" is sailing to Scandinavia. The show, with music and lyrics by Sting, will be produced in Norway, Sweden and Finland over the next two years, according to a spokesman. Sting is in talks about possible productions in his native United Kingdom, as well as in Germany and Eastern Europe, the spokesman said.

Sting Sails “The Last Ship” One More Time in Joyous Show for Actors Fund...

Hearing the songs from “The Last Ship” a few months after it closed was like meeting up with old friends. The title song is so catchy you can’t get it out of your head. Same for the great stomping “What Have You Got?” (not the real title, but that’s what I call it). The lush ballads are just gorgeous - from “What Say You Meg” to “The Night the Pugilist Learned How to Dance.”

Songs from “The Last Ship” - Live at NYC's McKittrick Hotel for One-Night-Only!

Next Tuesday, May 19, Sting will bring The Last Ship back to New York City for one-night-only when he performs songs from his Tony Award®-nominated score in a uniquely intimate venue, The Heath at The McKittrick Hotel (542 West 27th Street), home of Sleep No More. Proceeds from this concert event will benefit The Actors Fund.

Bringing “The Last Ship” Home

On April 24 & 25, Sting performed songs from “The Last Ship” in three sold-out benefit concerts at the Sage Gateshead in Newcastle. On behalf of the Sage’s 10th Birthday Appeal, the shows were also a homecoming of sorts for material that Sting has said was deeply inspired by his hometown of Wallsend. Watch Video

Greenwich's Rob Mathes receives his first Tony Award nomination...
