Kathryn Tickell Curates Second Major Concert for Magnetic North East...

Magnetic North East’s Kathryn Tickell invites a host of exceptional acts to Sage Gateshead for the organisation’s second major concert on 10th November 2017, 7.30pm (Sage One). The family of Leonard Cohen invites fans from around the world to join them, along with renowned musicians, the Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of Quebec in celebrating Cohen’s legacy for Tower of Song: A Memorial Tribute to Leonard Cohen at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Nov. 6, 2017. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Sept. 23 at www.evenko.ca. Sting, Audience in Perfect Synchronicity...

Sting has great affection for the city of Boston and its music fans. The Police’s U.S. success really started here, with early 1978 gigs at the long-gone and much missed Rat and the support shown by the DJs at WBCN and other rock-and-roll stations. Sting and J. Ralph To Be Honored At The Smithsonian For Their Contributions to American Music...

On Sept. 8, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History will acquire donations from both artists for their contributions to American music, including their Oscar-nominated song, “The Empty Chair,” from the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story about the American photojournalist who was captured and killed in Syria. Sting, a 16-time Grammy winner, and Ralph, a triple-Oscar nominee, will join Dan Rather for a discussion, followed by performances from Sting and the world premiere of Ralph’s new symphonic piece, “Evolocean"...
