To benefit the Sage Gateshead 10th Birthday Appeal, Sting will perform songs from "The Last Ship," his latest album and new Broadway musical of the same name, on 24th and 25th April 2015. These will be the only UK performances of their kind and are both kindly supported by Cunard. Additional support comes from Shepherd Offshore and Port of Tyne. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Monday 1st September from 10am at www.sagegateshead.com, and also at Sage Gateshead's box office on 0191 443 4661. A trio of superstar Geordies join the stellar cast of the Great North Run Million opening ceremony set to thrill thousands on the Quayside on September 4. Music superstar Sting has joined the stellar cast of North East talent who will gather next month to make sure the Great North Run Million Opening Ceremony is unforgettable. As the thousands who have bagged their tickets already know, the Thursday before the 2014 Bupa Great North Run will offer a spectacular start to the celebrations marking the half marathon’s historic millionth finisher. Dire Straits legend Mark Knopfler, Jill Halfpenny, Tim Healy, The Unthanks and David Almond have all signed up to take part in the event on September 4, which will 'tell the story' of the North East and celebrate its industrial heritage...
As previously announced, Sting & Paul Simon, two of music's most renowned and enduring artists, will bring their critically-acclaimed On Stage Together tour to New Zealand and Australia in 2015. A final New Zealand date has been confirmed for Saturday, January 31st at TSB Bowl of Brooklands in New Plymouth. A star spangled line-up of North East heroes has pledged support plans to create a dedicated children's cancer research centre in Newcastle. Musician Sting and TV writing duo Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais of Auf Wiedersehen Pet writing fame are amongst a contingent of much-loved and respected names from the world of music, stage, sport, business and community work to have become patrons of the Future Fund. Explaining his support for the campaign, Sting said: "The research teams at Newcastle University are doing vital work on the development of more effective and less harmful cancer treatments for children. I am proud to lend my name to support the Future Fund campaign."

Jamie Foxx danced onstage and sang with an all-star cast that included Paul McCartney, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Saturday night at a fundraiser for the Apollo Theater. The event included performances by Gladys Knight, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, The Roots and Pharrell Williams. Knight performed a Motown medley, and Bon Jovi did soul music covers including Knock on Wood.
