Sting brought together generations in Cuenca with his powerful voice and hits...

Cuenca welcomed British musician Sting to the Alejandro Serrano Aguilar Stadium as part of his 'Sting 3.0' tour.

Sting in Ecuador! The English pop-rock icon performed in Cuenca to share hits like 'When We Dance,' 'Always On Your Side,' 'All for Love,' and 'Shape of My Heart,' among others.

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as Sting, opened the Carnival holiday in Ecuador with a one-off concert at the Alejandro Serrano Aguilar Stadium. He was joined on stage by Deminic Miller on guitar and Chris Maas on drums. Obviously, Sting played bass.

Thousands of fans came to Cuenca to see and sing along with the 73-year-old British musician, who has won 17 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy Award, and four Academy Award nominations for Best Song, among many other accolades.

Sting began his performance at 8:08 PM with a signature song from his time with The Police: "Message in a Bottle," although the audience continued to enter until approximately 8:40 PM.

Sting alternated songs he created with The Police with others from his solo career. The sound was perfect, and the audience fell silent as the musician's voice spun, bursting into applause at the end of each song.

The musician dared to say a few phrases in Spanish: Cuenca, Ecuador. We are very happy to be here. Then he said in English: That's all the Spanish I know. Although he did know more, which he then repeated: Louder, please sing with me. Thank you very much!

Sting encouraged the audience to sing louder, to shout louder, but they remained calm for the most part. Mesmerized by Sting's specular voice.

The shouts came when the British singer left the stage without singing his iconic song "Roxanne." Then, the artist happily returned, picked up the bass again, and not only shared that hit but switched to an acoustic guitar to say goodbye with "Fragile."

The concert ended at 9:50 p.m. with Sting thanking the audience in Spanish and wearing a sombrero that was thrown from the audience.

Do you know how his stage name "Sting" came about? In several interviews and in his autobiographical book, he has shared that when he was in high school, he sang wearing a coat with black and yellow stripes, so his friends told him he looked like a bee and the legend was born: 'Sting,' meaning sting in Spanish.

Sting conquered Cuenca with a historic show at the Serrano Aguilar Stadium...

Cuenca authorities hailed the concert as the best show in the city's history.

Cuenca experienced a historic night welcoming Sting to the Serrano Aguilar Stadium, where the iconic British musician, accompanied by his inseparable guitarist Dominic Miller and dynamic drummer Chris Maas, thrilled thousands of fans.

The highly anticipated concert, part of his STING 3.0 tour, was marked by an extraordinary connection with the audience and a performance of the greatest hits from the rock genius' career, both as a solo artist and from his time with the legendary band The Police.

Approximately 10,000 attendees, from various cities across the country such as Quito, Guayaquil, Riobamba, Machala, and Loja, gathered in the Athens of Ecuador, inaugurating the 2025 Carnival holiday with one of the most anticipated shows of the year.

With incredible energy, Sting began his concert at 8:10 PM with a performance of "Message in a Bottle," a Police classic, which thrilled the audience.

The repertoire continued with other unforgettable anthems such as "Englishman in New York," "Fields of Gold," "Shape of My Heart," "So Lonely," "Every Breath You Take," "Roxanne," and many more, creating a unique atmosphere in the city.

The STING 3.0 tour represents a new stage in the career of this multi-award-winning artist, who, accompanied by his band, offered an intimate yet powerful and sophisticated show.

With a distinguished career that has earned him 17 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, Oscar and Tony nominations, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sting has left an indelible mark on music.

Furthermore, his activism in defence of human rights and his support for organizations such as the Rainforest Fund and Amnesty International reinforce his legacy as an artist committed to the world.

Local authorities have hailed Sting's appearance in Cuenca as the biggest and best show ever to hit the city.

Fans of various generations enjoyed a magical evening filled with nostalgia, excitement, and the unmistakable energy of this rock maestro.

The event was organized by Live Nation Entertainment, a global leader in live entertainment. It not only marked a milestone in Ecuador's concert calendar but also cemented Cuenca as a major destination for international artists.
