The Miami Rehearsal Rocked!
I was extremely lucky that some people cancelled and were nice enough to let Tina, Dave, and Wendy know so my husband and I could go. We had second row seats and I was able to make it up to the stage and had my elbows resting on the stage as Sting stood above playing and singing his heart out.
The show was unbelieveable! I also had the pleasure of meeting some friendly fans who made the experience even more enjoyable. I met debzeppelin, smoothshoes, dawn pardo, and lavendil. I hope I spelled those all correctly and if not I apologize, but it was great seeing fans that were all supportive of each other and their quest to see this show. Sting and the band played for about 2 hours and 45 minutes and the show was greater than I ever imagined it could be.
I told Kipper that I was there for my birthday bash and he reached down and gave me a hug which I thought was the sweetest thing. I also got to touch the hands of all of the band members and even Sting himself! Unfortunately, before the show, I asked if I could take a camera in, but I was told that I couldn't and to my surprise, there were cameras and video cams everywhere so I have no pics, but I will try to get at least a signature at Monday night's Tampa show.
I have been a fan of Sting since I was 5 and I have some 20 cd's, but I have never been able to attend a show until this production rehearsal. Though this was a freebie show, Sting gave his fans more than a concert. He gave his heart and soul and covered songs from many of his albums which was wonderful. I am so grateful that I was able to attend this show and I was also upset at the review that the Miami Herald gave because it was obvious that whoever did the review wasn't a musician or a fan of Sting and this uniquely talented band.
My health has kept me from attending other Sting shows, but now that I have been able to see him live, I will find ways to travel anywhere to see his future shows. The band was totally energized and in synch with one another and no one was ''putting on'' a show. It was natural and fun. I was afraid that I was going to pass out from excitement and the other fans that I met were great about my over-excitedness. Thanks guys!
I'm still hoping to meet Sting and the band because that would be the greatest moment and I have dreamt of that forever, but I took home an awesome memory that I will forever cherish and I hope to meet more fans in the future. To the ones I met, please keep in touch, because you guys were a lot of fun! I hope every fan gets to experience this show, and thanks again to Tina, Dave, and Wendy for your kindness and hard work that it took to arrange this for us and all of the other fans!
